Mike Arcari
Program director and founder of
Faithful Response, an innovative, faith-based mental
health program that assists Long Island residents who
continue to struggle with mental health, psychological
and/or family issues related to the September 11, 2001
terrorist attacks and the current war on terror in
Afghanistan and Iraq. Faithful Response provides free,
confidential counseling and support to children, adults
and families whose lives have been impacted by terrorism
and the events of 9/11.
Mr. Arcari is a former lieutenant and
commanding officer with the New York City Police
Department's Early Intervention Unit, where he
introduced Critical Incident Stress Management and
created its Critical Incident Response Team. Mr. Arcari
has a wide background in disaster response services,
with more than 17 years of experience in trauma
services, including serving as Coordinator of Disaster
Response and Administrator of Catholic Charities USA
World Trade Center Disaster Relief Fund. He has also
worked with Project Liberty, Home Ground, and served as
Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Rockville Centre’s
liaison for disaster response to the federal, state and
local governments.
Mr. Arcari understands the emotional
and psychological effects of disasters and the ongoing
need for mental health services as the result of
post-traumatic stress disorder as it relates to the
events of 9/11 and the impact of war on our military
personnel and their families. Mr Arcari.
